Wrap them in a piece of folded up wax paper, tied with jute, or place them in the decorative paper mini bread loaf pans.
Finnish Pulla Bread ~ Gluten FreeFinnish Pulla Bread is a traditional dense sweet bread made typically during the winter and holiday months. Mama uses the "Mock Braid" technique to give it a braided look.
Gluten Free Eggnog SnickerdoodlesMama brings the love of Eggnog and the love of Snickerdoodles and combines them into one cookie for your holiday parties. These are soft and delicious! For best results, use a 1-inch cookie scoop.
Leftover Turkey Asparagus StrataWhat do you do with all that leftover turkey? Well look no further Mama's Turkey Asparagus Strata is an easy dish that is perfect for breakfast, brunch or even lunch. Make it ahead of time and pop in in the oven when ready to bake. This recipe is versatile, you can use the asparagus as called for or substitute for broccoli, spinach and red bell peppers, or onion and mushrooms. Stratas are a casserole dish that is made using leftover bread layered with meat and/or veggies, smothered in an egg mixtures and topped with your favorite cheese. This is super easy to make and a great way to use up leftover gluten free bread, turkey, and veggies. Mama recommend making a loaf of Gluten Free Mama's bread in the bread machine and using half for sandwiches or toast and the other half for this recipe. Enjoy!
Maple Glazed Yams and CranberriesThe Thanksgiving table is complete without Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes and Yams! Mama's Maple Glazed Yams and Cranberries are the perfect combination of sweetness and tartness and you will enjoy every bite!
Gluten Free Cranberry Cheesecake Bars ~ Egg FreeEnjoy the flavors of Cranberries and Cheesecake all in one delicious bar. This recipe is easy to put together and guests will be coming back for more.
Mini Shortbread Cookies ~ Gluten FreeShortbread cookies are a Christmas tradition that goes back years. Mama's easy shortbread cookies are delicious dipped in chocolate and if desired Christmas colored sprinkles.
Apricot Almond BarsThese are super easy to make and everyone will love them! Use any jam flavor you like!
Cinnamon Roll Scones ~ Gluten FreeIf you are gluten free you are probably missing delicious cinnamon rolls. Mama's Cinnamon Raisin Scones are like a "Mock Cinnamon Roll" and are just as delicious. They will have a scone like texture but the flavor of cinnamon, butter and raisins all mixed into a delicious treat. You can make this egg free by just adding 3 Tbsp. extra cream or coconut cream. For those who are dairy free, the coconut cream found in the Asian aisle at the grocery store makes for a great substitute, or any dairy free milk will work too.
Chocolate Peanut Butter SconesThis scone is a special treat and my kids devoured it. Anyone who loves chocolate and peanut butter together will go nuts over this scone. This scone is egg free and you can make it dairy free by using coconut cream found in the Asian aisle at your grocery store or use any dairy free milk alternative.
Gluten Free Gingerbread Scones with Maple GlazeIf you like scones and you like gingerbread then you will LOVE these scones. They are super easy to toss together and while you are getting ready for guests they can be baking in the oven. They will even make your home smell delicious!
Rosemary BiscuitsMama's biscuits are delicious served with soups, dinners, lunches and more. You can also slice them in half and have easy, simple gluten free sandwiches. Or make them as plain biscuits leaving out the garlic and rosemary and basting with butter just after removing from oven.
Mama's Perfect Pot RoastThis pot roast is a recipe that I learned to make while attending boarding school in Louisiana. It's packed full of flavor, a little salty, a little spicy, and tender. The trick to making this packed full of flavor is to season the outside and also season the inside. You do this by cutting several slits in the roast on both sides. Then filling each slit with a pinch of the seasoning and then stuffing the slits with onion wedges, slices of bell pepper and garlic. The best thing is that you put it in the crockpot in the morning and 8 hours later you have a tender roast that just falls apart so perfectly, perfectly seasoned and all you have to do is thicken the sauce and the gravy will be perfectly seasoned already.
Mini Lemon Meringue TartsThese beautiful Mini Lemon Meringue Tarts will be the highlight at any family gathering during the holidays or any time of year. All you need is some mini tart pans or 4 inch quiche pans. If desired you can also make this using a normal sized tart pan.
Orange Pomegranate Muffins ~ Gluten FreeThese muffins bring the perfect amount of sweetness. Pomegranate arils offer sweetness, color and crunch to these tasty muffins. To remove arils from pomegranates, all you have to do is cut pomegranate into four pieces. Fill a medium sized bowl with water, dip the pomegranate sections in water and gently remove arils. The arils will sink to the bottom and the pulp will float. Remove pulp, and drain off water and your arils are ready to use in these muffins, add to salads, include in your apple pies or just munch on. These muffins are perfect to serve for breakfast during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season. This can also be made all year round by adding a nut in place of the pomegranate arils.
Pumpkin Cranberry MuffinsThis is a delicious muffin recipe. You can use fresh cranberries or frozen, or if you don't like the tart flavor of cranberries use craisins or replace with chocolate chips.
Balsamic Green BeansEvery Christmas table needs a good side dish. Mama's Balsamic Green beans are delicious at Christmas and any time of the year.
Hot Spinach DipMama's Hot Spinach Dip can be made on the stove top or put the ingredients in a small crockpot and allow it to heat up while you are doing other things. Delicious served with gluten free crackers, gluten free bread or even potato chips or corn chips.
Gluten Free Sugar CookiesSugar cookies were and still remain a tradition in our household. I can remember making these as early as being a young toddler. I have passed this tradition on to my children as well. It's never too early to bring the kids into the kitchen, and sugar cookies are a great way to get started! Start the tradition in your home too!
Gluten Free Cream PuffsJust because your gluten free doesn't mean you can't enjoy the wonderful flavor of cream puffs at your holiday parties and Christmas events. They are easy to make and anyone can make them. You will need a disposable pastry bag and if you would like a cute design in the dough, a star tip. Parchment paper is also needed to do this recipe or silicone bakin g mats.
Sun-Dried Tomato & Artichoke DipServe this delicious hot dip with Mama's Sesame French Bread or with gluten free crackers or chips. Perfect for parties or appetizers.
Cranberry White Chocolate SconesMama combines the delicious flavor of oranges and cranberries with white chocolate, making a delicious holiday scone.
Fresh Cranberry SauceCranberry Sauce is my favorite side dish and Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner! I also love it as a spread on sandwiches with cream cheese and turkey. My cranberry sauce has a hint of orange flavor making it extra delicious!
Fresh Baked Turkey and Gluten Free GravyYou can make this recipe with a turkey breast or a full turkey. Just make sure you follow cooking instructions on bag for the weight your turkey is. See Mama's Stuffing Recipe if stuffing is desired.
Cranberry Apple Walnut StuffingThis stuffing is delicious stuffed in your turkey or baked in an oven. Mama's favorite bread to use is Mama's Honey Flax bread found in Mama's cookbook In the Kitchen with Gluten Free Mama. Any good tasting gluten free bread will work great.
Gluten Free LefseThis lefse recipe is a family favorite. I converted this recipe to gluten free from an old family recipe that has been passed on through my girls Norwegian heritage for generations. Grandma Bette says it's pretty close to perfect. Of course perfect could only be the actual recipe and when grandma Bette used to make it.
Agave Pecan PieMy grandmother loved pecan pies. So I made this recipe in honor of her. I am not a fan of corn syrup, so I replaced it with Agave. It makes a delicious pie that is the perfect combination of sweetness and crunch from the pecans. I think you will love it! Use Mama's Pie Crust Mix to make this super easy, or any of Mama's Pie Crust Recipes.
Royal IcingThis icing is a white icing that is used to decorate Gingerbread Cookies and Sugar Cookies. It hardens quickly after being piped. So if you aren't going to use it right away, store it in an airtight container. It works best to use this with a disposable Wilton pastry bag and tip 3 and 4 are my favorites to use to pipe lines and dots. You could also use a star tip for a more decorative look.
Gluten Free Double Pie CrustGluten Free Pie Crust is so much different than baking with normal wheat flour. Gluten Free Mama has an entire resource page just for you about making gluten free pies easily! Check it out at glutenfreemama.com. In the meantime, remember that it's best to roll the dough out to about 1/8-1/4 inch thickness between two pieces of wax paper that have been lightly sprayed with cooking spray. If you get gaps or holes in the dough, don't fret, gluten free dough is easy to repair, just take a piece of the excess dough and press to fill the gap. Remember that making beautiful pies takes practice, the more you do it, the easier it gets. Be sure to read the tips before getting started for more success!
Dark Chocolate Espresso CakeThis is a delicious rich chocolate cake that will make a huge statement at your holiday parties. It is beautiful baked in a bundt pan, but also is versatile as cupcakes, sheet cake, or in 8 inch rounds as a layer cake. If you aren't a dark chocolate fan, use regular cocoa. A great tip for making this cake extra beautiful is to coat the pan with cocoa instead of flour, that way when you take the cake out of the pan you have no white spots, only perfection.
Gluten Free Apple PieThis is a delicious All-American Apple Pie. You will need to use Mama's Double Pie Crust recipe, Mama's Pie Crust Mix available at glutenfreemama.com or your favorite gluten free pie crust. For tips on having success baking gluten free pies, visit Gluten Free Mama's website.
